1973 Japanese re-issue on CBS/Sony's "SX68MARK II" series of the 1958 album featuring John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderly. With obi

condition (record/cover): NM / NM (in shrink)

Obi included. No insert.

The sextet album, and the point where the whole music changed direction. Miles Davis added Cannonball Adderley to a band that already contained John Coltrane, and the front line that resulted is the most talked-about in jazz for good reason: Cannonball's blues-drenched exuberance against Coltrane's vertical fury, with Miles in the middle playing less than either of them and saying more. The title track is the first real modal statement in the recorded music, two scales and nothing else, and everything from Kind Of Blue onwards runs through it. Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones for the last time.

Japanese CBS/Sony pressing. Everybody owns Kind Of Blue. This is the record it came out of.
