Includes feaurures, essays, interviews, reviews, etc., and comes with a CD with (often exclusive) music/sound in relation to the contents of the magazine. Issue 55 of Musicworks reports on the 7e Printemps Électroacoustique, the festival curated in Montreal by Claude Schryer and Chantal Dumas. The CD is an anthology of excerpts from the programme, from Hildegard Westerkamp's thoughts on radio ecology and Knud Viktor's Symphonie du Lubéron to Jacques Dudon's photosonic synthesis and Gilles Gobeil's La ville machine.

Several tracks come from Droit de cité, a series of short pieces on Montreal by Mario Gauthier, Yves Daoust, Ned Bouhalassa, Schryer and others. There are also works for bicycle orchestra and bamboo, and two complete pieces by Susan Rawcliffe, who builds ceramic wind instruments. The magazine also covers sonic weaponry and pre-Columbian winds.
