Chris Cutler writes on sampling and appropriation, and the CD gathers pieces built on other people's records: John Oswald's own plunderphonic tracks, The Residents taking apart the Beatles, and Christian Marclay cutting up recordings of Maria Callas.
There is also Tibor Szemző's The Sex Appeal of Death for narrator and strings and Louis Andriessen's Dubbelspoor for keyboards and celesta, played by Sound Pressure, with articles on Szemző, Andriessen and John Cage alongside. The CD runs 71 minutes and comes in a slimline case.
