Live at the Cellar Café, New York, June 1964 - the trio with Gary Peacock and Sunny Murray, exactly one month before they cut Spiritual Unity. Albert Ayler road-testing "Ghosts" and "Spirits" in front of a tiny audience, and the results are volcanic: looser than the studio versions, longer, wilder around the edges, with the trio's telepathy already fully operational. As prophecies go, the title is accurate - everything the July session would perfect is already burning here. Crucial for understanding how this band built its miracle, and thrilling simply as sound. Japanese ESP-Disk' pressing from the respected 15PJ series.
