Obscure and sole album by Dino Mariani's free/avant-garde big band with homages to Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders, released by Bull Records in 1983. Never re-issued on either LP or CD.

condition (record/cover): EX / EX+

A bassoon player leads this orchestra. Dino Mariani composed and directed everything on Invenzioni, and his D.O.M. Alia Orchestra mixes a free jazz front line with oboe, flute, clarinet, violin, viola and two cellos.

The jazz players are names that would recur across Italian creative music for decades: Carlo Actis Dato on tenor saxophone, Riccardo Luppi on alto, Daniele Cavallanti on baritone, Luca Bonvini on trombone, Paolino Dalla Porta on double bass and Tiziano Tononi on drums. Two pieces carry dedications, Vivaro (Omaggio A John Coltrane) and Canto Per Pharoah, and side two opens with the eighteen-minute Pisa 79. Bull Records issued it in 1983.
