Volume eight of piano music in Hungaroton's complete Béla Bartók edition, played by Erzsébet Tusa. Three of the four works date from 1926, the year Bartók returned to the keyboard after a long silence: the percussive Sonata, the Nine Little Piano Pieces and the suite Out of Doors, whose fourth piece, The Night's Music, is the first of his nocturnes built on insect and frog sounds.
The Petite Suite of 1936 arranges pieces from the 44 Duos for two violins. The recording received the Grand Prix du Disque. Issued in 1969 in a gatefold sleeve with a 16-page booklet in Hungarian, English, German and Russian.
