Two beautiful vocal pieces from the mid-1970's performed by Swingle II conducted by the composer himself, released on Decca's "Headline" contemporary music series in 1976. With booklet.

condition (record/cover): NM / NM

Insert included.

Two vocal works Luciano Berio wrote for Swingle II, the eight-voice group Ward Swingle formed in London in the early 1970s. A-Ronne sets a short poem by Edoardo Sanguineti made of quotations in several languages, and repeats it again and again with the voices whispering, shouting, laughing and arguing, so that the same words become a radio drama without a plot.

Cries of London takes the old street sellers' calls as a starting point for a sequence of short, bright pieces. Both were recorded at Decca's West Hampstead studio in 1976 under the composer's direction and issued that year in the Headline series, with a 12-inch booklet.
