1980 Japanese re-issue on Impulse!/MCA's "Jazztime Now!!" series of the 1964 album featuring Jimmy Garrison, Elvin Jones and McCoy Tyner. With insert and obi.

condition (record/cover): NM / NM

Gatefold sleeve. Insert and obi included.

The masterpiece on Japanese MCA vinyl. Nothing more needs to be said about the music - John Coltrane's suite of acknowledgement, resolution, pursuance and psalm has been analyzed, worshipped and lived with for sixty years and still gives up new details on every listen. What can be said is that these Japanese pressings let every one of those details through: Jimmy Garrison's bass with real wood in it, Elvin Jones' cymbals in full three-dimensional splash, the room around McCoy Tyner's chords. If you play this record often - and you should - a quiet Japanese copy is a genuine quality-of-life upgrade. Here it is.
