This is the convenient way and arguably the best-sounding way to own this essential music: the whole arc of those July nights, from invocation to farewell, without hunting the volumes separately. The band digs in, the audience is with them, and Ayler plays like a man with everything still to say. As last documents go, few in any genre carry this much weight this gracefully. A serious object for a serious shelf, and Japanese pressing quality from first groove to last.
