Reeds and fiddle duo by two eminent Swedish improvisers released by Ideal in 2005 in an edition of 300 hand-numbered copies.

condition (record/cover): NM / NM

Edition of 300 hand-numbered copies.

Fredrick Lonberg-Holm, a cellist and one of the fixtures of the Chicago free improvisation scene, leaves the cello aside here for a keyed fiddle. Mats Gustafsson brings his baritone saxophone and an alto fluteophone, a plastic beginner's flute, and the two recorded the session in Chicago on 2 November 2004.

The titles form one sentence across the two sides, But A Cry Of Pain Rolls Up A Mountain / And Throws Itself From A Cliff To Crush, borrowed from the Swedish poet Erik Lindegren, and each side lasts four and a half minutes, which is brief by Gustafsson's standards. It was the first of three Gustafsson duo singles issued by the Swedish labels iDEAL and Kning Disk, with a sleeve by Leif Elggren.
